Dr. Issam Bennis is a medical doctor and Assistant Professor of Public Health at the International School of Public Health and the Faculty of Medicine at the Mohammed VI University of Science and Health in Casablanca since December 2021. PhD in Biomedical Sciences obtained between 2014 and 2018 from the Institute of Tropical Medicine and the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
Specialist in Public Health with a Masters in Health Organisation Management since 2010.
Pr. Dr. Issam Bennis is an Assistant Professor of Public Health with extensive expertise in biotechnology applied to infectious diseases, diagnostics validation, and biomanufacturing processes. His multidisciplinary profile combines advanced biomedical research, health management, and teaching, positioning him ideally to lead capacity-building initiatives in biomanufacturing and vaccine production in Africa.
Qualification in Epidemiology and control of tropical diseases, Researcher on leishmaniasis control programmes, and evaluator of diagnostic tools and laboratory techniques, PCR, genetic diversity, biological mechanisms of Leishmania and new medical technologies. In addition, I completed the One Health distance learning Master's course, with several distance learning and face-to-face certificates.
Expert in biotechnology applications within public health, with a strong background in tropical diseases, diagnostic biotechnologies, and biomanufacturing capacity-building initiatives. From 2003 and 2021 he held a number of positions within the Moroccan Ministry of Health in the field of health organisation management and the regulation of public and private healthcare provision at regional and provincial level. Over a period of three years, he was in charge of all the public services provided by the Ministry of Health in the Province of Errachidia, including four hospitals and around ten RESSP, REMS and REH support establishments.
